Why a Math Club?
For most kids, math is a very small dot of knowledge. Their view of math is limited to what their teacher posts in her room, which is generally what they'll be doing in class. Teachers also have a checklist of material they need to teach and, with all of the other demands, there just isn't time to teach beyond the curriculum.
However, what kids can learn is beyond what is taught and the really cool math ideas are never seen by most people who don't participate in math contests or pursue a master in math. They have the skills -- what they need is someone to open the door to the amazing world of math that goes beyond the classroom.
Math clubs fill the gap and support kids participating in math competitions.
