How many members should a math club have?
The general answer is enough members for it to be fun but not so many that it overwhelms the club coach. This usually translates to 6 - 10 members being the ideal number.
That said, sometimes you need to start where you can. If that means you have a math club with only 3 or 4 members to start, then start it with only 3 or 4.

Must math clubs participate in math contests?
No. There are many benefits to participating in math contests, but not all students want to compete. Math clubs should be designed with both those who compete and those who don’t in mind.
